PUXICO, Mo. -- Harry E. Gray, 78, of Puxico died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.

He was born June 21, 1922, in Puxico, son of Samuel David and Gertrude May Simmerman. He and Dorothy McIntosh were married May 10, 1941, in Greenville, Mo.

Gray lived in the Puxico area all his life. He had been a row crop farmer, residential contractor, self-employed trench worker, and a mechanical contractor with Sinclair Refining.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carolin Hodge of Puxico, Juanita Carriters of DeSoto, Mo., Marylin Fox of Wappapello, Mo.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dean Medlin officiating. Burial will be in Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico.
