Harry Jake Blank, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 1, 2013, at his home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Cape Girardeau County, to Edwin John and Freda Margaret Will Blank. He and Hazel Annette Starkey were married June 23, 1960, in Cape Girardeau.

Harry was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16, Eagles Aerie 3775, Elks Lodge 639 and the SEMO Cattlemen's Association.

He farmed all his life, worked on the river as a deckhand and tankerman many years, and also worked at Atlas/Spartech Plastics 26 years.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Blank of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Paula R. Blanc of Pocahontas; a sister, Marticia Schrader of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, Shane Joseph Voshage of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rodger Rice officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by Missouri Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
