ADVANCE, Mo. -- Harold Floyd Rainey was born Dec. 17, 1945, in Stoddard County, Missouri, and died Oct. 30, 2019, in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born to William "Ted" Rainey and Bernice Rainey beside twin brother William Lloyd Rainey.
From a young age, Harold developed a great love for the outdoors, running wild through his beloved Stoddard County hills, hunting and fishing. In the late 1960s, Harold proudly joined the Missouri Department of Conservation as a forest ranger. In the 1970s, he became an LPN working at Veteran's Hospital in Columbia and the Fulton State Hospital. In 2014, Harold joined the Catholic Church. And in his later years, he greatly enjoyed spoiling his grandsons.
He is survived by daughters Talia (Tom) Backer and Jeanna (Todd) Sanders; grandsons, Sethen Backer, Logan Sanders and Caleb Sanders; brother, Dennis (Linda) Rainey; sisters, Dorothy Lewis, Brenda (Gene) Boyer, Kathy Meesakul; and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William "Ted" and Bernice Rainey, and his brothers, William and Jim Rainey.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Advance, followed by graveside service at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
