ADVANCE -- Harold Richard "Dick" Cresap, 76, of Advance died Friday, Oct. 16, 1992 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 6, 1915 in Shell City, Mo. to Charles Perry and Florence Capshaw Cresap.
He married Sybilla Grojean Stanfield on Oct. 23, 1948 in Chaffee. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Rebecca Kucera and Deborah Bollinger, both of Advance; one step-daughter, Mary Ann Curtis of Laton, Calif.; two sisters, Lola Tribble of West Plains and Betty McMilliam of Farmington; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was a carpenter, and owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Advance for 38 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, European Theater Pacific Operations. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Advance, Masonic Lodge 582 of Koshkonong, Mo., the National Rifle Association, and the Elks Lodge 1810 of Chaffee.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Parish prayers will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance. Father Lewis Hejna will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Advance.
