Harold R. Pruitt Jr., 64, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Feb. 19, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Harold Sr. and Betty Jean Chancellor Pruitt.
Harold was a supervisor for Fru-Con, where he worked for 28 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Velma Jean Pruitt of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Mike Pruitt (Paula) of Cape Girardeau, Kevin Pruitt (Cheryl) of Jackson; three brothers, Kenneth R. Pruitt Sr. (Rose Marie) of Arnold, Mo., George Pruitt (Mildred) and Michael Pruitt of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Mary Sue Tripp (Carl) of Hollister, Mo., Lisa Stewart (Mark) of Commerce, Mo., Pamela Slattery (Keith) of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter, Daisy Patrick (Jeremy) of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Abigail Patrick of Cape Girardeau; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Olson officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association or Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills.
