BERNIE, Mo. -- Harold Robert McGuire, 79, of Bernie died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at the John Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was born May 21, 1921, in Pickering, Mo., son of John Augusta and Rosa Myrtle Rutherford McGuire. McGuire was the owner and operator of a construction company in Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Bernie in 1984. BERNIE, Mo. -- Harold Robert McGuire, 79, of Bernie died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at the John Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born May 21, 1921, in Pickering, Mo., son of John Augusta and Rosa Myrtle Rutherford McGuire.
McGuire was the owner and operator of a construction company in Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Bernie in 1984. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Bernie Church of Christ.

Survivors include a special friend, Grace Thurston of Bernie; a daughter, Sharon Martin of Kansas City; a son, Robert McGuire of Youngstown, Ohio; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service today at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral will be in the Rainey Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., with Stan Dauck officiating. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
