JACKSON -- Harold Miller Hope, 73, of Jackson died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 1, 1925, at St. Louis, son of Thomas and Mildred Stewart Hope.

He married Wanda Killian Aug. 9, 1947. She survives.

He was a repairman for Southwestern Bell Telephone for more than 30 years before retiring in 1980. He served in the Marine Corps. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. He was also a member of Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 of American Legion and VFW Post 3838. He was also a member of the 6th Marine Division Association, Telephone Pioneers of America, and The Travelers Protective Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Brown of Jackson and Susan Bennett of High Ridge, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Service Chapel at Jackson, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Interment will be in Apple Creek Presbyterian Cemetery at Pocahontas.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
