FAIRMONT CITY, Ill. -- Funeral for Harold M. Alvey, 71, of Fairmont City will be at 1 p.m. today at Kassly Mortuary Chapel in Fairview Heights, with the Rev. H. Wayne Alvey officiating.

He died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at his home.

He was born June 4, 1927, in Chaffee, son of Virgil and Lizzie Davis Alvey.

He was a paint repairman for the General Motors auto plant in St. Louis, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of Berea Temple Assembly of God in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Brown Alvey; a son, the Rev. H. Wayne Alvey of Bettendorf, Iowa; two daughters, Vickie Hamsey of Fairmont City and Karen Greenfield of Maryland Heights, Mo.; a brother, Raymond Alvey of Burbank, Calif.; two sisters, Burlean Boese of Jackson, Mo., and Maxine Larson of Dupo; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
