Harold A. Lowes, 89, of Oak Ridge, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 19, 1914, at Jackson to the late August and Cora Ludwig Lowes. He married Helen Koch July 16, 1950. She survives of Oak Ridge.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post No. 158 in Jackson.

Other survivors include a daughter, Joy Braeuner of Stevens Point, Wi.; a brother, Cletus Lowes of Jackson; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo. An American Legion Post No. 158 wake will be Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. David Burge will officiate. Military graveside services will be provided.
