ORAN, Mo. -- Harold Joseph Landewee, 78, of Oran died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.

He was born March 29, 1938, at his birth home, son of the late Frank Pete and Barbara Landewee. He and Agnes Asmus were married Aug. 13, 1960. She survives in the home.

He was a member of Guardian Angel Parish, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311, and a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Thomas A. Langen Assembly. He was a member of the Oran City Council for many years, served as a volunteer firefighter, a volunteer umpire, and was Man of the Year for the City of Oran in the early 1980s. He owned his own construction company and worked in the construction industry before retiring.

Surviving are three daughters and three sons, Melissa (Michael) Spencer of Oran, Theresa (Charlie) Upton of Jasper, Indiana, Susan (Chris) Scherer of Oran, Gerald (Kim) Landewee of Jackson, Carl (Jennifer) Landewee of Chaffee, Missouri, and Timothy (Kristy) Landewee of Chaffee. He had 11 grandchildren, Brandon Isaacs, Matthew Isaacs, Katie Upton, Luke Upton, Aaron Scherer, Hannah Scherer, Thomas Landewee, Joseph Landewee, Emily Landewee, Kolbey Landewee and Kayden Landewee. He had three stepgrandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents. His siblings are Irvin Landewee, Patricia Kern, Mary Frances Glastetter, Jerome Landewee, Carolyn Leitle and Bernice Kern.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus prayers.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Guardian Angel Catholic Church or Southeast Cancer Center.
