PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Harold Klobe, 93, of Perryville died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
He was born April 14, 1915, in Perry County, son of Emil J. and Louise Matilda Schroeder Klobe. He and Irma Smith were married May 23, 1936. She died March 14, 1999.
Klobe was an auto and aircraft fuel control specialist. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Holy Name Society, American Legion Post 133, 3rd Degree member Knights of Columbus, and leader of Boy Scout Troop 250 for 10 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was involved with European Theater Operations.
Survivors include a son, Harold "Ron" Klobe of Lebanon, Mo.; two daughters, Joan Pratt of Greeley, Colo., Carol Fontes of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Floyd Klobe of St. Louis; a sister, Eileen Walter of Sereno, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Parish and Knights of Columbus wake will be at 5 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military rites provided by American Legion Post 133.
