Harold Hines, 55, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born March 30, 1943, at Neelys Landing, son of Carl and Dorothy Craft Hines. Harold Hines, 55, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 30, 1943, at Neelys Landing, son of Carl and Dorothy Craft Hines.

He married Judy Shelton on Nov. 16, 1963. She survives.

He was graduated from Jackson High School in 1961 and entered the National Guard after graduation. He was a prominent farmer and cattleman in the Fruitland area for many years. He and his wife owned and operated Hines Trucking from 1963 to 1997 and the Frontier Food Store and Restaurant in Fruitland from 1988 to 1994. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Fruitland. He moved to Cape Girardeau from Fruitland in 1997.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Brad Hines of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Jackson; a sister, Ann Quade of Jackson; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Cecil Hurt and Richard Combs officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
