ORAN, Mo. -- Harold David Hartman, 84, of Oran died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Aug. 10, 1921, at Lilbourn, Mo., son of Walter Martin and Mae Clara Penrose Hartman. He first married Amanda Engelen May 9, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. She died Jan. 21, 1999. He and Elizabeth Reischman were married Nov. 26, 1999, in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Hartman was a heavy equipment operator with Local 513. He was a member of St. Mark Masonic Lodge and Guardian Angel Catholic Church.
He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Gary Reischman of New Hamburg, Mo., Donald Reischman of Chaffee, Mo.; four stepdaughters, Dolores Pobst of Cape Girardeau, Ruth Heisserer of Scott City, Judy Tainter of St. Peters, Mo., Rosemary Bryeans of Oran; an adopted sister, Ruth Leonard of Kentucky; 18 stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
