DONGOLA, Ill. -- Harold H. "Jug" Hart, 84, of Dongola died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Aug. 11, 1913, in Evansville, Ind., son of M.G. and Mary Bessie Freeze Hart. He and Bernice "Beanie" Litzey were married Oct. 7, 1946. She died Oct. 16, 1995.
Hart was a retired lineman with Southern Illinois Electric Co-Op. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Caledonia Lodge 47 AF&AM, life member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455, member and past president of Southern Illinois Unit of Wally Byam Caravan Club International.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Earnhart and Melanie Terbrak of Dongola, Nancy Davis of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Marietta Churchill of Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. A Masonic service will be held by Caledonia Lodge.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Donald Poole officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3455.
