Harold George Green Jr., 71, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born June 28, 1946, in Cape Girardeau to Harold G. and Gertrude Swan Green Sr.

He married Mary Louise Grass on Aug. 8, 1970, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.

He graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1964.

He was best known as "Blue" while employed by Missouri Utilities Co./Union Electric/AmerenUE from January 1970 to his retirement in June 2004. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Works Local 702.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1111, 4th Degree Thomas A. Langen Assembly and American Legion Post 63.

He served as financial secretary and past Grand Knight of K. of C. Council 1111.

He was also past president of the K. of C. State and National Softball Association and was inducted in the K. of C. National Softball Association Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Green of Cape Girardeau; a son, Michael H. (Marcy) Green of Dexter, Missouri; a daughter, Maria T. Green of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Addyson, Ashley, Kaylin and Nicholas; three sisters, Jean Wibbenmeyer of Cape Girardeau, Mary Jane Gonzalas of Cape Girardeau and Haroletta (Larry) Schlimme of Burfordville; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with parish prayers at 7 p.m., followed by a K. of C. Council 1111 rosary.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Francisco Gordillo officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Endowment Fund for the Knights of Columbus Council 1111.
