JONESBORO, Ill. -- Harold Eugene Gardner, 65, of Salem died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. JONESBORO, Ill. -- Harold Eugene Gardner, 65, of Salem died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

He was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Jonesboro, son of Wendell and Wanda Sauerbrunn Gardner.

Gardner served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Roger Gardner of Jonesboro; two brothers, Charles Gardner of Anna, Jim Gardner of Jonesboro; a granddaughter; and a stepgrandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4:30-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
