Harold C. Logsden passed into glory on Saturday, March 13, 1999 at 7:05 P.S.T. surrounded by his family. He was born the second child of ten to Cletys Alvin and Jeannette Violet (Deckard) Logsden in Advance, Mo. on August 5, 1922. He graduated from Zelma High School in 1942 after taking time to work in the CCC Camp at the age of 15. He served his country from 1943-1945 in the US Navy aboard the USS LST 127 and received an honorable discharge with the rank of Quarter Master 1C.On January 11, 1947 he married his best friend and sweetheart, Catherine (Kitty) Delores DeCarlo in Laurel, Montana. During the first years of their marriage, he worked with Boland Construction out of St. Louis building smoke stacks throughout the state and was superintendent over the refurbishing of the bridge spanning across the Mississippi from Cape to Illinois. He served the City of Cape Girardeau as a patrolman on the Highway Patrol for 11 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Whitewater.

As owner with his wife, he designed and built the R&M Trailer Park at 555 N. Spring Street in Cape Girardeau which operated under their care from 1960-1963. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri School of Mines at Rolla in 1966, he relocated his family to California to work as a Civil Engineer with the Los Angeles County Road Department from 1965 to 1984 when he retired.

They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1997. Harold was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus in December, 1997. During his illness, they continued to enjoy life and each other. Because of Kittys unselfish, loving and devoted care during his entire illness, Harold was able to remain at home and pass over peacefully in his sleep.

He is survived by his constant companion and beloved wife of 52 years, Kitty, two daughters (Rochelle P. Leemhuis and Machelle B. Forshee); two granddaughters (Jakulyne M. and Jamie Lee Forshee); three sisters (Ramona J. Johnson, Lenora E. Scowden and Betty L. Mott); one brother (James D. Logsden) and many friends. He will be continually loved and remembered by everyone who knew him. Even at a full 76 years of age, life on earth is too brief.

Arrangements will be handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet and there will be a private ceremony for the immediate family. Remembrances can be given to Kitty at 190 Santa Lucia Ave., Hemet, Ca. 92343.
