SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Harold Joseph Burger, 77, of Scott City died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Oct. 20, 1922, at Commerce, Mo., son of Alexander and Clara Georger Burger. He and Louise M. Scherer were married June 18, 1946, at Benton, Mo.
Burger was a farmer all his life and lived in the same house his whole life. He was a graduate of Benton High School. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and St. Joseph Sodality.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Paul Burger of Benton, David Burger of Paducah, Ky., Bobby Burger of Scott City; a daughter, Mary Coomer of Delta, Mo.; a brother, Leo Burger of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Rose Hillman of Scott City, Linda Ziegler of Benton, Ann Thompson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, Carl, Tammy and Ryan Burger; Travis, Bryan and Nicholas Burger, and Matthew Patton; Crystal, Kevin and Jessica Coomer; Amy Blue; and Jennifer Burger; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lionel Joseph Burger; three brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Benton Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
