Harold Abernathy

MORLEY, Mo. -- Harold Abernathy, 82, of Burkesville, Ky., died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Ky.

He was born Sept. 15, 1922, at Morley, son of Clarence and Nellie Florence Bryant Abernathy. He married Marion Edmonds.

Abernathy retired as a printer with Cumberland County News. He was a member of Burkesville Baptist Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Starr White of Burkesville, Scarlett Myers of Glasgow; a friend, Jewell Garmon of Burkesville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and three sisters.

The funeral was held April 20 at Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, with Dennis Price and Mark Shelton officiating. Burial was in Burkesville Cemetery.
