Harlyn "Harley" Eakins, 49, of San Diego, Calif., died Sunday, June 8, 1997, at a brother's home in San Diego. He was born March 24, 1948, son of Carl and Dorothy Eakins. He grew up in Cape Girardeau and was a 1966 graduate of Central High School. Harlyn "Harley" Eakins, 49, of San Diego, Calif., died Sunday, June 8, 1997, at a brother's home in San Diego.

He was born March 24, 1948, son of Carl and Dorothy Eakins. He grew up in Cape Girardeau and was a 1966 graduate of Central High School.

Survivors include four sons, Cale and Scott Eakins of Rockford, Ill., Ian and Ryan Eakins of San Diego; his mother of Pacific; two brothers, Ron Eakins of St. Louis, Steve Eakins of San Diego; a sister, Sheri Eakins of Pacific; a special friend, Marcie Caldwell of San Diego; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in California.
