HOLLISTER, Mo. -- Hansel M. Robinson, 96, formerly of Jackson, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Point Look Out Nursing Home in Hollister, where he had been a resident for a brief time. He was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Stoddard County, Missouri, the son of Hansel "Kelcy" and Mamie McClard Robinson. He married Evelyn McCamish on Jan. 11, 1946, in Dexter, Missouri. She passed away March 20, 2016...

HOLLISTER, Mo. -- Hansel M. Robinson, 96, formerly of Jackson, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Point Look Out Nursing Home in Hollister, where he had been a resident for a brief time.

He was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Stoddard County, Missouri, the son of Hansel "Kelcy" and Mamie McClard Robinson. He married Evelyn McCamish on Jan. 11, 1946, in Dexter, Missouri. She passed away March 20, 2016.

Hansel and Evelyn were members of Connection Point Church in Jackson.

Hansel was an elementary school principal, retiring in 1986 from Washington Elementary School in Cape Girardeau.

He was a World War II veteran, having been inducted into the U.S. Army Air Force on Jan. 12, 1943, and honorably discharged Sept. 7, 1945, as a staff sergeant. He was stationed in Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy and Northern France.

Loving survivors include three children, Joanna (David) Clifton of Branson, Missouri, Ellen Robinson of Bozeman, Montana, and James (Rita) Robinson of Traverse City, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Crystal Clifton, Anna (Rich) Watson, Amelie Morgan, Zachory (Jamie) Morgan, Jennifer (Kelley) Standerfer, Eric (Sarah) Robinson and Caleb Robinson; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Wilma Clodfelter of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Edith (Charles) Gardner of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Edna Diana Beggs of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Hattie Bennett-Brown, Wanda Faith and Mary Staggs.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Vaught officiating. A committal service, with military honors, will be at 3 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Connection Point Church Building Fund, 1506 S. Farmington St., Jackson, MO 63755.
