She was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Illmo to Jerry Cullum and Ada Lucinda Baker Farmer. She and Sylvester A. Geringer were married Feb. 5, 1943, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1978. Hannah Elizabeth Geringer Todt, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Illmo to Jerry Cullum and Ada Lucinda Baker Farmer. She and Sylvester A. Geringer were married Feb. 5, 1943, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1978. She later married Cletus Todt on Dec. 27, 1985, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her Aug. 28, 2015.

Hannah was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

She worked as both a cook and a cashier for the Cape Girardeau School District.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent Ladies Council, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Exchangettes of Cape Girardeau and Saint Francis Medical Center Auxiliary, for which she was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year.

Hannah will be remembered for the loving, caring person she was. She spent many years taking care of others, including her parents, husband, aunt, friends and neighbors. She always took the time to take care of others' needs before her own.

Survivors include two sons, Rick (Debbie) Geringer of Festus, Missouri, and Scott (Lena) Geringer of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Geri Geringer of Leopold, Missouri; three stepsons, Jim (Roxanne) Todt of Yorktown, Virginia, Steve (Judy) Todt of Cadiz, Kentucky, and Dan (Dianna) Todt of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Brenda (Don) Hicks of Cape Girardeau; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sons, Gary and Michael Geringer; sister, Margaret Davis; and two brothers, Everett and James Farmer.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Diabetes Association or Saint Francis Medical Center.
