CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Harold "Hank" Golightly, 89, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Chaffee to the late Otto and Maude Doughty Golightly. He married Eva Grooms on Oct. 23, 1946, and she survives of the home.

Hank started working at a gas station at a young age and later became owner/operator of the business, changing the name to Hank's Phillips 66 Station, where he worked for a total of 30 years. He later worked for Procter & Gamble as an operator for 21 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Chaffee. Hank was a 32-degree Mason with Chaffee Masonic Lodge 615. He was a former volunteer firefighter with the Chaffee Fire Department for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Eva Golightly; two daughters, Sandra Patterson of Oran, Missouri, and Nicole Rehak of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Traci (Johnnie) Shands and Brandon Patterson, both of Oran; four great-grandchildren, Traci (Lee) Wescoat of Matthews, Missouri, and Dylan, Dane and Colin Shands of Oran; two great-great-grandchildren, Emma and Ella Wescoat of Matthews; and an honorary sister, Dorothy Statler of Cape Girardeau.

He also was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Missouri.
