ANNA, Ill. -- Dr. H. Russell Casper, 79, of Anna died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.
He was born June 3, 1918, in Anna, son of Howard Henry and Cecil Lula Boswell Casper.
He married Rosella Kirkwood on Sept. 25, 1945, in Great Lakes, Ill. She survives.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Anna. He graduated from St. Louis University School of Dentistry and served as a dentist in the Navy during World War II. He maintained a dental practice in Anna a number of years. He was a former president of the Anna Rotary Club and a member of Anna Kiwanis Club. He was a co-founder of the Union County Country Club at Anna.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. John M. Casper and Roger Casper, both of Anna, and the Rev. Donald L. Casper of St. Louis; a brother, George Earl Casper of Anna; and, three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Service will be held Monday at 1:30 at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Larry Shacklee officiating. Interment will be in Anna Cemetery, with full military honors by Anna VFW Post 3455.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
