Guy Bunyard

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Guy W. Bunyard, 90, died Monday Dec. 19, 2011, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

Guy was born May 2, 1921, in Piedmont, Mo., to the late Lyman and Ella Collins Bunyard. He married Theda Mae Jones on Jan. 16, 1943. She preceded him in death April 29, 1992.

He was employed by Frisco Railroad in Memphis, Tenn., as a car man. He retired from Beachnut Co. in Amsterdam, N.Y. After retiring from Beachnut they moved to Mount Vernon, Mo., and then to Chaffee in 1992. Guy was a member of First Baptist Church and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.

Survivors include a longtime companion, Phyllis Hamm of Chaffee; her children, Steve (Linda) Rogers of New Madrid, Mo., Larry Rogers of Seattle, Wash., and Janie (Jim) Fowler of Chaffee; her grandchildren, Amy (Lucas) Branson of Linn, Mo., Molly Fowler (Tyler Cookson) of Boston, Mass., and Kori (Neal) Grossheider of Little Rock, Ark.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Rhodes of Chaffee.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Rogers; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Matthew Butrum officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
