SIKESTON -- Funeral for Gus S. Hornback of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Allen Basham will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Hornback, 73, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 17, 1926, in Diehlstadt, son of Norvle Adren and Vida Catherine House Hornback. He and Lucille Moulder were married Oct. 29, 1944, in Corning, Ark.
Hornback owned and operated Hornback's Grocery 35 years, and owned Playtime Miniature Golf 35 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Hornback of Sikeston, Allen Hornback of Dallas, Ga.; a daughter, Sharon Bryant of Sikeston; two sisters, Lorraine Daniels of Palm Springs, Calif., Louise Matthews of Gamaliel, Ark.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
