CHARLESTON -- Grover D. Brownfield, 82, formerly of Charleston, died Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, at Bertrand Retirement Center in Bertrand.
He was born Jan. 28, 1913, in Jackson County, Ark., son of Henry and Mary B. Brownfield. He and Vada Ann Sims were married Sept. 28, 1935. She died March 30, 1993.
Brownfield was a retired carpenter, and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a son, Gordon Brownfield of Sikeston; two daughters, Beatrice Pierce of Fairfield, Ill., Virginia Brack of Sikeston; a brother, William Brownfield of Newport, Ark.; a sister, Beatrice Bowman of Malvern, Ark., and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Penn officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
