JACKSON -- Gretchen Crites, 82, of Route 1, Jacskon died Wednesday, July 22, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 26, 1909, in Egypt Mills, the daughter of Hardy and Anna Goliher Brooks. On Dec. 9, 1934, she married Owen Crites, who survives of the home.
Also surviving is a sister, Isma Green of Jackson. She was preceded in death by a brother.
She lived in Cape Girardeau for several years before moving to Jackson in 1971. She worked at the former International Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau and was a member for the past 15 years of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Fruitland, where she taught adult Sunday School class.
She also was a member of the United Methodist Women, Byrd's Creek Homemakers Club and the former Burfordville Homemakers Club.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Dave Conley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Richard Combs, and burial will be in the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Jackson.
