Gregory J. Pleimann, 77, of Oak Ridge passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2022.
He was born March 3, 1945, in St. Louis, son of Walter and Amalia Pleimann. He and Nancy Adams were married Nov. 11, 1966.
Greg moved to the area in 1973 to work as the chief financial officer of Saint Francis Medical Center, where he retired in 2003.
Greg always wanted a farm. Lazy P Ranch was started with his wife, Nancy. They started out with cattle in 1974 and eventually moved into crops too. Greg did what he could, supervising and overseeing. The farm had them active in 4-H through their children and grandchildren.
Greg loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends and watching his grandsons in sports, cattle showing, farming or whatever they were doing.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Timon Council 6405 in Jackson. Greg and Nancy were longtime members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish in Jackson before moving to Oak Ridge in 2004. There, they were members of St. Maurus Parish in Biehle, Missouri.
Loving survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy; daughter, Barb (Paul) Reininger of Fenton, Missouri; son, Steve (Tammy) Pleimann of Oak Ridge; grandsons, Chris (Brittany) Reininger, Brandon Pleimann, Caleb Reininger and Adam (Machela) Pleimann; great-grandchildren, Destiny and Gus; siblings Walter (Toni) Pleimann, Mary Lou Pleimann, Judith Pleimann-Kirk and Carol (David) Clausen.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ursula Muehlhauser.
He was truly a good and faithful servant to God and a great son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, cousin and friend to everyone.
A celebration of life and memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
