GRACE VANMATRE

PUXICO -- Grace I. VanMatre, 87, of Puxico died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 18, 1910, in Bollinger County, daughter of Herman and Hettie Trafford Coats. She and William VanMatre were married Jan. 10, 1937, at Arab. He died Feb. 5, 1986.

VanMatre was a member of Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dorris VanMatre of McGee, Lowell VanMatre of Puxico; two daughters, Ilene VanMatre of Zalma, Lucille Maloney of Puxico; a brother, Clarence Coats of Zalma; a sister, Thelma Duniphan of Zalma; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Sargent and Keith McNece officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery at Arab.
