GRACE TESSENS

BLOOMFIELD -- Grace Tessens, 85, of Bloomfield died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at her home.

She was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Hackleburg, Ala., daughter of Zachary Taylor and Lore Rena Mays Burleson. She and Lawrence Tessens were married Dec. 23, 1944, in Detroit, Mich. He died Feb. 2, 1985.

Formerly of Michigan and Louisville, Ky., she had lived near Bloomfield since 1958. She was a member of Church of Christ at Dexter.

Survivors include a son, Gerard Tessens of Bloomfield; a brother, Vurgle Burleson of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Cagle of Phil Campbell, Ala., Floraleen Doughty of Dearborn, Mich.; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dale Grissom officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
