SIKESTON -- Grace Scobey, 86, of Bells, Tenn., formerly of Sikeston, died Monday, July 17, 1995, at West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center in Jackson. She was born Nov. 22, 1908, in Lilbourn, daughter of William M. "Mitt" and Ada Cline Robinson. She and Homer Scobey were married Nov. 29, 1926. He died Sept. 19, 1989...

SIKESTON -- Grace Scobey, 86, of Bells, Tenn., formerly of Sikeston, died Monday, July 17, 1995, at West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center in Jackson.

She was born Nov. 22, 1908, in Lilbourn, daughter of William M. "Mitt" and Ada Cline Robinson. She and Homer Scobey were married Nov. 29, 1926. He died Sept. 19, 1989.

Scobey was a self-employed seamstress 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston and Fidelis Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two sons, W.A. "Dub" Scobey of New Madrid, Ronald Scobey of St. Louis; three daughters, Bobbie Arneson of Nevada, Iowa, Mona Higdon of Brownsville, Tenn., Sue Avery of Cleveland, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Dr. Jim Guffie officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
