MARBLE HILL -- Grace E. Gaines, 72, of Woodstock, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1995, at Kenneston Hospital in Marietta, Ga.

She was born July 29, 1923, in Zalma, the daughter of Leland and Verca Vance James. She married William Gaines in 1974.

She served in the Ordinance Corps during World War II and was employed for 35 years for Western Union.

Her husband, a daughter, Judith Slaymaker of Marietta, and two brothers, Otto James of St. Peters, Mo., and Harold James of St. Louis, survive.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Baker Funeral Home in Marble Hill, where funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Gerald Huff will officiate, and burial will be in Baker Cemetery in Marble HIll.
