M. Grace Cotner, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 24, 1907, at Egypt Mills, Mo., daughter of Charles and Anna Hauer Poe. She and Carl Talley were married in 1931. He preceded her in death. She and Guy Cotner were married in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Cotner moved to Cape Girardeau in 1923. She worked for the telephone company for eight years. She also worked for Dr. Shank, at Montgomery Ward and at a Hot Springs, Ark., rehabilitation center for four years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann Bueltemann of Memphis, Tenn., and Diane Marie Hawn of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, J.T. Cotner of Chaffee, Mo.; a brother, Don C. Poe of Columbia, Mo.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
