Gordon Philip Mueller, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born July 21, 1933, in Wheatfield, N.Y., son of Paul and Edna Mueller.
After primary and high school in New York, he attended Concordia Lutheran University in River Forest, Ill., and graduated in 1955.
He and Lida Landgraf were married in Cape Girardeau in 1957.
Mueller served the Lutheran Church 40 years as a teacher, musician and administrator at congregations in Cape Girardeau, McCook, Neb., and St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffrey Mueller of Muskogee, Okla., Thomas (Pam) Mueller of Houston; four grandchildren; Bryan, Paul, Seth and Alyssa; a great-grandson, Hayden; and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service today at Trinity Lutheran Church.
The celebratory service will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund, the Lutheran Home, or Lutheran Family and Children's Services.
