Gordon Leon McCullough, 65, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at his home. He was born July 9, 1953, at Advance, Missouri, the son of Paul and Laveda A. Gordon Leon McCullough, 65, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 9, 1953, at Advance, Missouri, the son of Paul and Laveda A. McCullough Stepp Sr.

Gordon was a 1971 graduate of Zalma (Missouri) High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1975. Later, he obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University.

Gordon was the COO of The American Heart Association in Dallas. He was a longtime member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where he and his wife served as youth Sunday school teachers. He also served on numerous committees at the church.

Gordon volunteered as a consultant to help create Kids Across America. The organization helped underprivileged children attend church camp.

Gordon and Linda Sue Kidd were united in marriage March 7, 1980, in Jackson, and she preceded him in death July 31, 2016.

Survivors include two sons, Joshua McCullough of Frisco, Texas, and Andy Stepp of Greenbrier, Missouri; a daughter, Angela Steele of Plano; a sister, Teresa Stepp of Greenbrier; and six grandchildren, Danielle Stepp, Caleb and Haley Steele and Jackson, Jared and Jentry McCullough.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Paul Stepp Jr.; and a granddaughter, Jennamarie McCullough.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jimmie Corbin and Leeman Shirrell officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
