OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Goldie I. McCullough, 89, of Olive Branch died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 5, 1913, in Alexander County, Ill., daughter of Holly and Altha Lawrence Powless. Mrs. McCullough retired as an aide at Jacksonville Mental Health and Developmental Center in Jacksonville, Ill. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Ill., and attended Lake Milligan Baptist Church in Miller City, Ill...

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Goldie I. McCullough, 89, of Olive Branch died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 5, 1913, in Alexander County, Ill., daughter of Holly and Altha Lawrence Powless.

Mrs. McCullough retired as an aide at Jacksonville Mental Health and Developmental Center in Jacksonville, Ill. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Ill., and attended Lake Milligan Baptist Church in Miller City, Ill.

Survivors include a sister, Delores Howard of Mount Vernon; two nieces, Judy and Lowell Mendenhall of Olive Branch, Carolyn Zappa of Orange, Mass.; three nephews, D.D. "Buddy" Phillips of Jacksonville, Fla., Ronnie and Larry Howard of Mount Vernon; a great niece, Mandy and Kenny Cain of Tamms, Ill.; and their children, Casey and Aaron Cain.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Powless, and two sisters, Thelma Phillips and Mary Evelyn Ward.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate.
