ADVANCE, Mo. -- Goldia E. Jordan, 94, of Advance passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Advance Nursing Center.
She was born March 6, 1919, in White County, Ill., daughter of Louis Franklin and Mary Emily Darnell Russell. Goldia and Charles "CF" Jordan were married Nov. 25, 1949, in Jonesboro, Ill. He preceded her in death July 10, 2006.
Goldia was baptized Feb. 26, 1949, at Enfield General Baptist Church. She always was preparing for the future in many different ways.
Survivors include a son, Steve (Danielle) Jordan of Advance; a daughter, Dixie Jo (Carrol) South of Enfield, Ill.; a brother, Junior "Buck" Russell of Enfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Albert Strickland; two daughters, Cleta Strickland and Iris South; a brother; five sisters; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
