Gloria Elizabeth Sides, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at her home.
She was born April 1, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Clarence Albert and Mayme Marie Hopper Benson. She and Wilbert Edwin "Junior" Sides were married Sept. 9, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.
Mrs. Sides was a cook 32 years at Cape Girardeau Country Club, and previously was a waitress at Colonial Tavern. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; six sons, Kenneth (Jackie) Moore of Mound City, Ill., Gary (Bill Brake) Sides of Waldorf, Md., Darrell (Jane) Sides of Niagara Falls, Canada, Donny (Debbie) Sides of Cape Girardeau, Terry (Debbie) Sides of Atlanta, Ga., Randy (Nancy) Sides of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Gene Sides, and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Au-burn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Saxony Lutheran High School or the American Cancer Society.
