Glodean Eyre, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Hamilton County, Ill., to R.M. and Bertha Brown Springer.

She and Harley Wendell Eyre were married Dec. 28, 1940 at St. Louis. He passed away Sept. 12, 1992.

She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Southeast Hospital. During World War II, she was a seamstress and won many awards from Singer Sewing Co.

Survivors include three sons, Wendell Wayne (Janice) Eyre of Edwardsville, Ill., Carl Lee Eyre of Cape Girardeau and David Mark Eyre of St. Louis; a brother, Ervin Dean Springer of Odessa, Texas; a sister, Geraldean McQueen of Odessa; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
