PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Glennon A. Buchheit, 79, of Perryville died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at his home.

He was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Perryville, son of Andrew Phillip and Margaret Theresa Winkler Buchheit. He and Mary Jane Rees were married May 6, 1972.

Survivors include his wife; five stepsons and a stepdaughter, William J. (Shirley) French of Perryville, Richard W. (Kathy) French of St. Mary, Mo., Kenneth L. (Cindy) French of Affton, Mo., Thomas D. (Christine) French of Ozora, Mo., Laura J. (Kent) Luckey of Altenburg, Mo., Michael D. (Leslie) French of Perryville; a sister, Margie Ann (Joe) Hartle of Sebring, Fla.; 20 stepgrandchildren; 13 great-stepgrandchildren; two nephews; and a niece.

Mr. Buchheit was employed with Perryville Cheese Plant, Perryville Country Club and lastly with Davis Farm Supply from 1978 to 1994. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Perryville, and a charter member of Perry County Sportsman Club.

He was a member of 140th Infantry Company B of the U.S. Army National Guard from 1948 to 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant stepgrandson.

Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Dr. Sharon Howard officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by Delta Team.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are preferred to United Methodist Church or Southeast Hospice.
