Funeral service for Glenn W. Lampley of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The Rev. John Owen will officiate with burial in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Lampley, 87, died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 17, 1910, at Illmo, son of Charles Albert and Mary Boyd Lampley.

He was first married to Gertrude Crumpecker. She preceded him in death in 1963. He then married Delia Pope were April 30, 1988, in Cape Girardeau. She survives.

Lampley was a lieutenant with the Missouri Highway Patrol for 35 years. He joined the Patrol on July 1, 1935 and retired in 1970 and was a Lieutenant Colonel with the Missouri National Guard for four years, retiring in 1963.

Lampley played football at Southeast from 1930 to 1934. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, member of the VFW, Elks Lodge, past president of the Cape Nutrition Center, and a member of the SEMO Area Agency on Aging for 17 years.

He is also survived by two nieces.
