SCOTT CITY -- Glenn Alwyn Elliott, 84, of Scott City, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 29, 1907, in Jonesboro, Ark., son of Bedford and Mary Smith Elliott. He and Martha Jean Oliver were married Nov. 9, 1942, in Clayton.

Elliott retired in 1959 as a fireman with Cotton Belt Railroad. He and his wife then owned and operated a Standard Service Station in Scott City 10 years.

He was a member of Illmo United Methodist Church, and Elks Lodge 1810 at Chaffee.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn A. "Bud" Elliott Jr. of Belleville, Ill.; a daughter, Mary Ellen Hoffman of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Donnis Covington of Jonesboro, Ark., and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Pamela Brakhage will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. today.
