DECATUR, Ga. -- Glenda L. Runnels Martin, 75, of Decatur, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, after a short hospital stay at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Glenn "Bunny" and Letty Runnels.
Glenda spent most of her adult career working in the payroll department at Thorngate Ltd. on Independence Street. Later in life, she worked as a nanny for families with small children in Decatur.
She is survived by her daughters, Chrys (Tim) Prichard of Decatur and Tami (Mike) Asheroff of Chamblee, Georgia; grandson, Sawyer Prichard; granddaughter, Quincy-Laurel of Decatur; sister, Tish Barnes of Cape Girardeau; niece, Dr. Lori Kindle of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; nephew, Justin (Cari) Barnes and children of Perryville, Missouri.
Glenda was preceded in death by parents.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Glenda's name at the American Humane Society.
A memorial service for family members will be held at a later date.
Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
