DESOTO, Mo. -- Glenda Mayola Hays, 86, of DeSoto died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at her home. She was born Sept. 14, 1920, at Qulin, Mo. She and Julius C. Hays were married May 9, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 9, 2001. Mrs. Hays was a retired certified nurse's aide, cook at Qulin Elementary School, and was a homemaker. She was a member and served as secretary of Qulin United Methodist Church...

DESOTO, Mo. -- Glenda Mayola Hays, 86, of DeSoto died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at her home.

She was born Sept. 14, 1920, at Qulin, Mo. She and Julius C. Hays were married May 9, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 9, 2001.

Mrs. Hays was a retired certified nurse's aide, cook at Qulin Elementary School, and was a homemaker. She was a member and served as secretary of Qulin United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny L. Hays and wife Charlotte of Poplar Bluff, Stephen J. Hays and wife Delma of DeSoto; a daughter, Ronda L. Smith and husband David of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Loraine Taylor of Farmington, Mo., Lillian Love and Nadine Rainey of Maryland Heights, Mo.; two brothers, Scotty Pendegrass of Wappapello, Mo., and Raymond Pendegrass of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.

Also nine grandchildren, Russell Hays, David Hays and wife Amy, Robert Stanley, Angela Spence and husband Rick, Mark Finocchiaro Jr., Tiffany Johnson and husband Christopher, James Hays, Kevin Hays, Laura Hays; and five great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Timothy, Amber, Jacob and Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvie Cletus and Laura Summers Pendegrass; four brothers and two daughters-in-law.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell, Mo. The Rev. Fred Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Qulin Cemetery.
