Glen T. "Doc" Wilkinson, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at his home.

He was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Elba Marion and Daisy Victoria Dorsey Wilkinson. He and Carol Ford were married Aug. 15, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Wilkinson worked at Union Electric 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838, St. Mark's Masonic Lodge, and Capaha Scottish Rite.

He served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 20, 1950, to Dec. 24, 1954.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charlie Holshouser of Roy, Wash., Tim Holshouser of Cape Girardeau, Ronald Ford of Marble Hill, Mo.; two daughters, Laurie Essner of Kelso, Mo., Susan Gatena of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Betty O'Howell of San Bernardino, Calif., Mildred Tapley of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Carolyn Green of Ventress, La., Winnis Givens and Brenda Bowman of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 3838.
