ADVANCE, Mo. -- Glen Shell, 86, of Advance passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 17, 1930, at Dongola, Missouri, the son of Otto Sherman and Rebecca Null Shell. Glen married Bonnie Winchester on Feb. 22, 1952, and she passed away Feb. 4, 2013.
Glen was a farmer all of his life and attended Friendship Baptist Church in Dongola.
Survivors include two sons, Neal Glen Shell of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Dannie Wayne Shell of Advance; two daughters, Sheila (Mike) Hitt of Advance and Phyllis (Bill) White of Jackson; two sisters, Bell Eaker of Sturdivant, Missouri, and Irene Collins of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) McDaniel, Shelley (Justin) Keeney Taylor, Tara Hitt (Kurt Monroe) and Taylor (Trevin) Shell-Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Madison Hitt-Monroe Macie and Carson and Mackenzie McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dongola Cemetery Fund.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, with the Revs. Ronnie Winchester and Bob Winchester officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery in Dongola.
