ADVANCE, Mo. -- Glen Alford Probst, 75, of Advance passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his home. He was born March 2, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Pearl and Alma Riley Probst. Glen and Helen Shirley were married March 17, 1959, in Lincoln, Neb. She preceded him in death Jan. 3, 2000...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Glen Alford Probst, 75, of Advance passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 2, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Pearl and Alma Riley Probst. Glen and Helen Shirley were married March 17, 1959, in Lincoln, Neb. She preceded him in death Jan. 3, 2000.

Glen retired from the Air National Guard and worked for the Department of Defense.

He was a member of the Advance Eagles.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell and Glen Probst of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Kathy Martin of Flower Mound, Texas; two brothers, Ronnie Probst of Advance and LeeRoy Probst of Potosi, Mo.; three sisters, Leala Fritz of Morley, Mo., Freda Gamblin of Scott City and Audry Denny of Park Hills, Mo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with full military rites.
