CAIRO, Ill. -- Glen R. Hoppe, 43, of Blakely, Ga., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Early Memorial Hospital in Blakely.
He was born Aug. 11, 1961, in Cairo, son of Herschel and Barbara Hawkins Hoppe. He married Nancy Humes.
Hoppe was a guard with DSI Security Co. in Blakely. He was a former dispatcher and auxiliary officer with Cairo Police Department, and had been a firefighter with Mound City Fire and Rescue Department.
He was a member of Jaycees and Fraternal Order of Police.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Hoppe of Cache, Ill.; his mother of Cairo; three sisters, Loretta Burns and Donna Farris of Cairo, Mary Fissinger of Barlow, Ky.; and a brother, Darrell Hoppe of Cairo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry Potts officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.
