ADVANCE -- George "Glen" Dunlap, 78, of Advance died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Beverly Health Care in Bloomfield.
He was born May 23, 1921, in Advance, son of William and Myrtie Garner Dunlap. He and Wanda Brown were married Nov. 30, 1943, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Dunlap was a retired farmer. He was a member of Farmer Service Association.
He served with the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy during World War II, and received the Good Conduct Medal and a Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gloria Johnson of Marble Hill; two brothers, Garner Dunlap of Advance, John Dunlap of Idaho; five sisters, Dorothy Henley of O'Fallon, Mary Myers of Albuquerque, N.M., Helen Welker of Bloomfield, Ida Arms of Carrabelle, Fla., Clara Sullivan of Annapolis; Delmar Haven of Oviedo, Fla., who was raised as a brother; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jenny Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
